Create and add SRT files

An SRT file is a .srt extension file that contains a formatted plain text list of time codes (HH:MM:SS,MIL) matched with subtitles. Each item on the list is numbered sequentially starting with 1. You can create your own SRT file with a plain text editor such as Notepad or TextEdit, and save the file with extension .srt. The following is a .srt file example:

1 00:00:00,000 --> 00:00:07,000 Hello, welcome to this CaptureCast presentation. 2 00:00:07,050 --> 00:00:12,000 Today I will be speaking about changes in eLearning technology. 3 00:00:12,050 --> 00:00:20,000 This is a thirty minute seminar. If you wish, you may take notes during this presentation.

1. In Brightspace Capture Portal or Brightspace Capture Central, on the Admin tab, in the Content area, click Presentations.
2. From the drop-down list beside the presentation you want to edit, click Open in Producer.
3. Click the Closed Captions tab.
4. Click the  Upload file icon.
5. Select the .srt file you want to upload from your computer.
6. Once the file uploads, click Done.
7. Click Save.
