Split long presentations into shorter playlist segments

You can automatically divide presentations into playlist segments to reduce the likelihood of recording, streaming, uploading, and connectivity issues that you might encounter in longer presentations.

For example, if you set Brightspace Capture to automatically divide presentations into 30-minute segments, a 150-minute presentation would publish to Brightspace Capture Portal as a playlist of five, 30-minute segments.

Once you publish a presentation playlist to Brightspace Capture Portal, you can label each playlist segment with its own presentation name. By default, a published playlist's segments are labelled as sequential parts (e.g. Part 1 of 3, Part 2 of 3, Part 3 of 3).

  1. On the main Brightspace Capture Software screen, click Options.
  2. In the Profile menu, in the Advanced section, in the Create playlists when recording length exceeds field, enter the number of minutes you want to set. By default, playlist segments are set at 120-minute segments.
