Adding private notes on evidence

Instructors can add private notes or comments to evidence submitted by learners. These private notes are not visible to learners or their parents and can be used to collect assessment notes or reminders that can be used later for evaluation purposes. Instructors have the option to share their private notes with other educators enrolled in the course, who can choose to respond by sharing their private notes.

By default, private notes by instructors remain hidden. Notes that are not shared with other educators enrolled in the course are marked with the Hidden icon.

  1. Select a learner's evidence to add a private note.
  2. Click Teacher Only to expand the section.
  3. Click Private Teacher's Notes.
  4. Click Add a Private Note and enter the note. Click the Visible setting if you want to share your private note with other educators in the class.
  5. If you already added a private note to the evidence, click the (...) Options menu and edit or delete the existing note.

Note: In archived courses, instructor roles can see shared private notes from other educators enrolled in the course. Users that do not, or no longer, have the instructor role in the archived course will not be able to see shared private notes from other educators.
