Integrating with Learning Environment

The LiveRoom application is fully integrated into Desire2Learn Learning Environment, allowing for a continuous learning experience and seamless movement between Learning Environment and a LiveRoom session.

Rooms, room members, and room archives are all managed through Learning Environment, and once you are signed into Learning Environment you can join a LiveRoom session simply by clicking on the name of a room. LiveRoom will automatically know who you are and the LiveRoom application will take you to the specified room.

You can incorporate rooms into a course as easily as adding any other tool. When a room is added to a course, everyone enrolled in the course will automatically have access to that room. If you want to create rooms for specific groups of users, you can easily do so using the same release conditions used with other tools.

LiveRoom also allows you to create personal or private rooms outside of any specific course or other org unit. You control who has access to your personal rooms and you can invite anyone from your organization to join your room. Personal rooms allow you to create a virtual meeting space to gather with friends and colleagues from anywhere across your organization.

Close integration also means that you can seamlessly incorporate course materials into any room you create. Not only can you add files and images from your course (or, if you have the Learning Object Repository, from anywhere in your organization), but you can even incorporate course content and other tools directly into a room. For example, you could incorporate a topic from the course content as a reference, or a quiz for users to take during a session.
